Chapter 5

When we got to La Mela, I saw Mom with Savannah and Cara. I hopped out of the car and ran into Mom's arms. "I'm so glad you're okay" Mom said, tears streaming down her face. "Thank you for getting her back safely" She told the Jonas family. "It was not problem.We were coming here to eat anyway. Would you guys like to join us? Mrs. Jonas said. I looked at my mom and nodded my head. "Of course we would" Mom said, smiling. When we got a table, I sat across from Nick. Beside me was Savannah. "He's the boy who helped you?" She nodded in Nick's direction. "Yep" I smiled just thinking about him. I heard Cara laughing. She was sitting beside Joe and Kevin. I rolled my eyes. She was always flirting with boys. By the end of the night we had all become great friends. When it was time to leave, I walked with Nick out. "Thank you so much for everything" I said. "Kinsley, really, it was no problem" He said. "I guess this is goodbye" I said. "Yeah" Nick sighed. We hugged. I said goodbye to Joe, Kevin, Frankie, and Mr. and Mrs. Jonas. "Come on girls, we've got to go. It's getting late" Mom said. We piled in the car. I held back tears. What more could a girl ask for on her birthday, though? I saw a broadway play, got lost but was found by an amazing boy, and made new friends. This was the best birthday ever!
