Chapter 12
*Rachel's POV*
I some of my bacon and then got some apples. Kevin looked at me and made a face. "What?" I asked bitting the apple. "I won't be kissing you for a while, i hope you know that." Kevin said laughing some. I rolled me and eyes and took an other bit.
Nick nugged Carissa and she nugged him back, then were going back and forth. I nugged Kevin and he looked up from his food and saw Nick adn Carissa smiling at each other.
"Young love..." Kevin said with a smile. "What?" Carissa asked. "Nothin..." Nick looked up and smiled then loked back at his food. Joe didn't look to happy the whole time.
"Why so glum chum?" Carissa asked smiling at Joe. He laughed a little but never took his eyes off his food. "Nothin. I'm fine." Joe said silently. i nugged Kevin and looked at him with the 'Talk to him look'. Kevin shook his head softly no and i nugged him again. He once again shook his head no. I elbowed him making his cough and look at me. My eyes got big and i looked at Joe then back at Kevin.
Kevin rolled his eyes, "Later." He moith. I looked back at my food and we all ate in silents, except for the giggles that came fomr Carissa every now and then.
We all finished eatting after a while and took our plates to the kitchen. Joe started doing the dishes in silents as everyone else walked into the family room.
"What's wrong, Joe?" I asked drying some dishes next to him. "Nothing." He said softly. "It's something. Cause if it was nothing, then you wouldn't look like this. But if it's something, that you say is nothing, that meant you lied to me about that nothing, that really is something. So talk." I said smiling. Joe turned and shook his head and smiled at me. We were standing next to eachother. He would wash and i would dry.
"Am i unatractive?" Joe asked suddenly. "So it is something..." I said. "Rachel." Joe said smiling. "You're handsome, sweet, funny, and....you have pretty awesome hair." I said with a smile. Joe looked at me and smiled, but then frowned, "How come...how come i can't get a girl?" Joe asked. My eyes got big and he looked at me. We both stopped what we were doing and looked at each other.
"Give it sometime and don't rush into things." I said drying some more dishes. "Thanks...for putting up with me. I get pushy and rude sometimes." Joe said looking at me. "It's okay. You still an awesome guy." I said with a smile. Joe bumped me with his hip and i bumped him back. We were going back and forth laughing and smiling. I'm glad we could now be friends.
Kevin walked in and saw what we were doing, "What's goin' on?" "Nothing, were doing dishes." I said turning around. Kevin looked at me then back at Joe who still had his back turned.
I walked over and put my hands on the uper part of Kevin's arms. "That didn't look like nothing." Kevin whispered. "You're over reacting." I said softly. "Rach, an hour ago Joe tried to kiss you and did kiss you. Now you're telling me he feels gilty and wants to be 'Just Friends' with you." Kevin said angry. "Kev....were just friends. Calm down." I said patting his arms. "I can't when you're in there flirting with my brother." Kevin said. "I'm not flirting!" I said a little louder making Nick and Carissa look at me and Kevin.
"That's what it looked like!" Kevin said loud. I got mad and looked at him, "Talk to me when you're not ticked off!" I said turning and walking back to help Joe. Joe and i soon finished and started to walk into the family room. Kevin grabbed my arm and pulled me to him again. "You two are flirting." Kevin whispered. I looked at him and i knew my face was red, "No were not. You're being a jerk and you're brother is just trying to be my friend. You need to calm down and take a breather." I said. "How can i , when you're flirting with him." Kevin said looking at me.
"For cryin' out loud Kevin! We're not flirting!" I yelled. Joe looked over at us and at Nick and Carissa who was now also looking at us.
"Yes you are." Kevin said in a low voice. "You know what. I'm leaving. Don't talk to me until you calm down and except the fact that Joe and i are just friends." I said walking away. I grabbed my phone and hugged Nick and Carissa by. Joe stood up and i hugged him. "If you need anything call me. You have my number." I said looking at Joe. Kevin's face turned red and he looked at me. I started walking to the door and Kevin called my name.
"What?" I asked. "No hug for me?" Kevin asked still mad. "Not now. I'm just a little mad at you right now." I said slamming the door.
I walked home and went to my room. My window was still open from last night and Kevin looked at me, "Rachel." He said. I closed my window and pulled down the blinds. I didn't wann see him right now.
Joe and i were just friends. At least, i think we were.
