Jamie’s POV
I was kissing Lucas when my phone rang the ringtone, “See U In The Dark” by Honor Society. It was a text. I flipped my phone open.
It was from Kevin.
Be back soon babe. Love and miss you lots!!

I miss him, but I don’t understand why I love him and Lucas. Lucas laughed at my ringtone, I was hoping and not the text message.
“Darlin’ I think I have to go soon,” Lucas said, his Texan accent heavy. I frowned. “Why?” I asked. “I have to go shopping for my mom’s birthday present,” he said. He was so sweet.
“Ok, well, I guess I’ll…” I was saying, but his lips crushed mine. And oddly all I could think of was Kevin.
As we pulled, my expression was shocked. He pulled me into a hug. “I’ll see you later,” he whispered in my ear.
“Bye,” I choked out. He exited the room.
The reason I was shocked wasn’t because of the sudden kiss.
But because of how I saw Kevin.
How he would look when… he found out I cheated on him.
My stomach churned, I felt sick. It’s because of me.
I couldn’t do this to Kevin, I couldn’t stand to see that expression in real life.
I turned to go out the door.
Kevin was standing there.
Roses smashed on the ground.
The same expression.
“I’m sorry,” I said, choking on tears.
“Forget it,” he said, rushing out the door.
I ran after him, needing him more than air to breathe.
