Did you forget everything we ever had?
"Wait, Joe!" she called after him.
He stopped dead in his tracks, turning to face the girl he once loved; the girl he'd given everything to. "What now?!" A lone tear slid down his flushed cheek.
"I'm sorry. Please don't leave." Demi approached him, her arms snaking around his waist.
"I can't do this...not anymore," he whispered under his breath.
She looked at him, shocked. "Just becase we fight doesn't mean it won't work!"
"Look at us, Demi! Everything's different now." Joe stopped to look at her one last time. "It's all falling apart - I can't handle it anymore."
"But -"
He put his finger up to her lips. "I'm sorry." Joe left one last lingering kiss on her lips, started up his car, and drove away for the last time. Ever.
"Don't forget," Demi muttered into the night sky, letting her words float away with the breeze as she gripped the necklace he'd given her so long ago.
