Chapter 2:
The limo ride wasn’t as long as I hoped.
We reached their house in about 10 minutes.
I stepped out of the limo and saw Mrs. Jonas standing at the door.
I hurried over and gave her a hug. (She was like a second mom, only more fun)
“Jamie!” She beamed.
“Hi” I said happily, though still not believing I was here.
“You’ve grown up so much! You look beautiful.”
“Thank you.” I blushed. “So where will I be sleeping?” I asked trying to change the subjuct.
The guys walked past us, taking my bags in the house.
“The guest room… come on inside, I’ll show you where it is.” She smiled.
I followed her through their home to the guest room.
“Your house is beautiful.” I commented, not particularly surprised, Mrs. Jonas had great taste.
“Thanks.” She said, her smile growing wider.
She hugged me again before leaving the room.
I started unpacking slowly, still thinking this was a dream.
Someone tackled me, interrupting my thoughts.
I turned around. “Frankie!” I laughed.
“Hey Jamie!” he smiled, as we both stood up. “Happy Birthday”
I gave him a quick hug. “Thanks.”
“So how old are you?” he asked.
“Eighteen.” I beamed.
“Wow your old.”
I laughed at his bluntness, it was quite refreshing.
He soon left to go watch something on TV.
I started unpacking again and was singing absentmindedly.
Hand clappin’
hip shakin’
heart breakin’
there’s no fakin’
what you feel
when your right at home,
yeah.
I turned around to hang up a few shirts and blushed.
“Oh hey Nick.”
“Whatcha doing?” he asked smiling.
“Oh ya know, unpacking, talking, singing, embarrassing myself…” I laughed.
“I wouldn’t unpack everything, we’re going on tour in a week.”
“I thought I was staying two weeks.” I frowned, not too pleased by this new information.
“You are… You’re coming with us,” he paused, “didn’t anyone tell you?”
“No.” I laughed, “Guess I’m just out of the loop, like always.”
I followed him out of my room.
“So what are your plans for today?” he asked.
“Uh… nothing really… I thought I’d just hang out with you guys.” I paused, “What are your plans for today?”
“Packing… it takes forever!”
“Anything I can help with?”
“Sure… we have TONS of clothes to fold.” He laughed and turned a corner.
I followed quickly afraid I would get lost in their house.
We stopped in a room I hadn’t seen before.
“So this is the family room… although it’s more like a giant closet when we’re trying to pack stuff for tours.” He laughed.
I smiled and sat down next to Joe.
If memory served, he was always running late, so he would definitely be needing the most help.
“My God! you have a lot of clothes. Do you really wear all of these?” I asked as I stared at the pile of clothes.
Joe laughed, “Yeah we do actually.”
“Who would’ve ever thought you… who used to wear the same Barney shirt EVERY day… would end up having at least 4 times more clothes than me?”
“Hey that shirt was cool.” He defended, “It could glow in the dark.”
“Yeah… every time we played hide and seek I would find you in your closet staring at your shirt.” I laughed, he laughed too.
We continued talking and reminiscing till dinnertime.
“So do you have your license?” I asked as we made our way to the kitchen.
“No.” he sighed, “We’re too busy touring for me to have much time to practice.”
“And when he does practice he knocks over all the cones.” Nick added laughing.
Joe made a face, and I laughed too.
“So I take it you have your license then?” Joe asked
“Yep.” I glowed, “I’ve had it almost two years now!” I bragged, and I couldn’t control my smile.
Usually he got to do everything first.
(He was a year and a half older than me and he never let me forget it)
I’d finally done something first!
“Awesome!” Nick high fived me.
“Yeah it is pretty awesome.” I smirked.
