Chapter 37:



The week flew by and tonight I would get to see Nick again.
Just thinking about it made me smile.
I had FINALLY found a cute pair of heels to where with my dress, so I was happy about that.
Although I was worried I’d have to explain to my mom why I was spending the whole day getting ready.
Thankfully, she had to work late, so I didn’t have to tell her about the whole ‘movie premiere’ thing.

I played with my hair for a while, trying to make it stay straight.
My wavy hair was NOT cooperating.
I decided I’d curl it instead, that seemed to work much better.
Rachel came over around 4pm and we looked even more like twins than usual.
I literally started laughing when I saw that she had curled her hair too.
We changed into our dresses quickly and looked in the mirror.
“We look WAY too much alike!”
“I know.” I giggled.
“I bet the guys will be confused.”
She started laughing.
“Once they know who’s who they’ll be just fine…” I started
“Unless we switch dresses.” She grinned evily.
“No no no… no evil plans tonight!” I laughed, “But next time…” I grinned, as I sat down on the couch in the front room.
“Yes, next time!” she laughed and sat down next to me.

The doorbell rang and I literally jumped off the couch and ran to the door.
“Hi Nick!” I said while opening the door.
My mom blinked a couple times, “Hi… why are you all excited?” she noticed my dress and raised an eyebrow, “Where do you plan on going all dressed up like that?”
“Nick and I are going out.”
She made a face, but just as quickly she went to her plastic smile. (The one where you know the person isn’t really happy, but is trying to look like they are for your benefit.)
It kind of killed my I’m-about-to-see-Nick-high.
“I thought you were working late tonight.”
“Plans change.” She said as she walked into the kitchen and started putting away groceries.

I frowned and sat back down on the couch next to Rachel.
“At least she’s trying not to hate him.” Rachel half smiled.
“Yeah I know but… ugh it’s so annoying, why can’t she just like him? She used to before he and I started dating.” I sighed.
“I know.” Rachel hugged me. “It’ll be fine, I mean honestly once she sees how happy you two are together and how much you love each other, she’ll have to love him, because how can you hate someone who loves your kid?”
“Are you sure your my cousin? Because the Rach I know is NEVER this serious.”
“I’ve been watching a lot of Dr. Phil.” She said seriously.
I laughed so much I fell off the couch.
“Dr Phil.” I could barely take in a breath of air, I was laughing way too much.
She rolled her eyes, just as the doorbell rang again.
“I got it!” I yelled, as I ran to the door.

Okay, I can't stress enough how amazing that was!
I can however say it would be better if it had me and K2 in it, but what can you do!
