CHAPTER 7
My doctor’s office is only a half-hour away. Today it took even longer since my mom had to drive slow so I didn’t spin. Sitting in the front seat with my eyes close singing along with the radio, I heard Chey and Lanie arguing. “Lanie you’re on my hand!” Cheyenne complained. “You didn’t have to sit by me!” Lanie told her. I looked back and noticed for the first time how crowded the backseat was. Cheyenne, Lanie, Raz, Demi, and Jamie were crammed together. I told them that they didn’t have to come, but they insisted. I smiled at them and turned back around. “Mom, are we almost there?” I asked. “About five minutes. Why?” she answered. “Cause I want to get out,” I said closing my eyes again.
Six minutes later we pulled into the parking lot. “You lied to me,” I joked. My mom looked at me and said, “Huh?” I pointed to the clock. “You said five minutes, it took six,” Everyone in the backseat chuckled. “Get out,” Mom said. Opening the door I closed my eyes and jumped. I ended up falling as usual. Jamie helped me up. Walking slowly toward the door I fell again. This time Demi helped me up. “I know I’m a klutz but this is crazy,” I said. “Yeah, I figured that out,” Cheyenne said.
For once I got right in. That was a plus. I was that much closer to figuring out what was wrong with me. Heart beating I walked into the room and sat on the bed. The nurse took my temperature and asked the usual questions, Any allergies? What’s happening? And so on… The nurse left and I was waiting for Doctor to come in. Reading kid’s books the doorknob turned. Will I finally know what’s going on? Doctor stepped in…..
