Chapter 32
I was laughing at Nick's dry humor when I notice the time.
"Hey Nick," I said, jumping up,"we gotta go!"
I had made it to the door before Nick had even gotten up."
"Sweetie," he put his hand on my shoulders, "Calm down."
I chuckled as he spoke the words like you would to a child.
"Okay," I breathed in, flashing my eyes closed for a couple moments.
"I'm alright."
"Good," he smiled at me, and held the door open.
"Where exactly are we going?" is one of the many questions he asked on the way there.
"To a place..."
"a place...?"
"a place...you've been before."
"I've been there before?"
"Yes, quite often, actually."
"How about you? Have you spent a lot of time there?"
"Yes" I chuckled, "a lot."
"Mmmm..." he mumbled under his breath.
"We'll be there in a few minutes, why waste your time?"
"I like to be prepared."
"Goodness, of course. Never seen you unprepared."
"Crazy thought."
"Exactly."
We both laughed then fell silent.
Looking at him, I grinned, hopefully covering the swallow I had just did.
"I'm gonna miss this, ya know?"
Nick gazed at my eyes screaming, I could tell by that, he knew what I meant.
I could feel a tear sheering from my eye.
I coughed, covering my tears, and turned to the road.
Within a few minutes, my Mother cafe came into view.
"Ah," Nick smiled, "I have been here a lot."
"Me too," I giggled, "In fact, I practically grew up here."
The edges of Nick's mouth twitched before he leaned in to kiss me on the cheek.
