I looked up at the sun near my best friend. Or used to be best friend. Thing were changing. Mostly our realationship. Which was the main thing i was scared of. I never wanted anything...or cared for anything more than him. But i never saw him like that. "Lindsey." "Joseph...i just...we just...." "What?" His voice rang in my ear. Like velvet...or silk. I smiled and turned away from him. "Because...i don't see you like that. You're my best friend. NOT my boy friend. Why would you care?" "He's hurtting you. Not in a bad way. But not in a good way either. And that's every reason why i do care. You're my best friend too. But thing are changing-" "And you're becoming more and more protective over me. Every other guy....person, i hang out with. Mostly Jacob, " I said as he crenged at the name, " You get...you just act-" "Jealous? Mad? Frustrated?" "Joseph. Don't pull this crap on me. Why do you always do this to me??"I was now yelling at him. Now all the student were started to stare. I saw Jacob jogged down the steps and wrap me in his arms. Joe just looked at me. "Ready?" Jacob asked. My frown turned into a smile and i looked up at him. "Yeah. Let's go." I said grabbing his hand. Jacob pulled me to his car and opened the door for me. Right when he closed the door. Mandy walked by and stopped him. He started talking to her for a minute. My phone buzzed as Jacob started walking around to his side to open the door. New Text from Joseph I thought about just closing the phone. But I wanted to see what he had to say. I took a deap breath as Jacob got in and opened the phone. 'Because I care. More than you know...and more than you want.'

Chapter 1
"What does he want?" Jacob asked as he sat on the couch. My phone rang for the 3 time of the night. "He probably just wants to talk." I mumbled. "Yeah...talk. But it's my turn to have you. AND you're always with him." Jake said putting one arm around me. "Funny. Joseph says the same thing." I said smiling. Jake brushed my cheek making me blush. My dad then walked in with my stepmom. He looked mad. "Couch for tonight!" Emily said slamming the bedroom door. Dad just rolled his eyes. "Mr. Carter.." Jake said standing up. "You don't have to leave yet." I said standing up and grabbing his hand. "Yeah i do," He whispered as i frowned, "Walk me out?" I smiled and pulled him out the door. When we got outside he quickly hugged me. "So....how long has it been?" Jake asked. "3 months." He nodded his head. "I think that's long enough for him. You can tell him." Jake said smiling and kissing my cheek. "You're not gonna help? It was your idea to keep it from him so he wouldn't think we were rushing." I said stopping him. "Yes it was. But you wanted me enought to go along with it. Plus. I was suppost to be home an hour ago. Sorry." Jacob said kissing me quickly and joggin to his car. "See you tomorrow." He called. I nodded my head and walked back inside. I put on my cheerfull smile. "Why so happy?" Dad asked. "Jacob asked me out." I said smiling. "Really? I knew it was coming, i guess." "Are you happy?" I asked. "Not really. But. You're my only baby girl. And you've grown up." Dad said hugging me. "Dad..." I moaned. "But you like him and that's what matters. Oh. And Joe called. He would like you to call him back. I told him if he wanted to. He could come over. He said if you didn't call. Then he would." "YOU DID WHAT??? Dad!" I yelled. "Sorry. Did you get in a fight with him?" Dad asked. "Yeah. Kinda." I said. Then i heard a knock at the door. I smacked my forehead. "I'll tell him you're not home." "Thanks dad." I said running up stairs. I heard talking for a while. Then the door closed. I then started to change to my PJ's. I quickly took of my pants and shirt and through on my tank top. "Really? Do you think i'm that dumb?" I jumped and turned to see Joe sitting on my bed. "WHat are you doing?" I asked. "Waiting for you to get your pants on. Hurry up please." He said tossing a ball in the air. I quickly put my pants on and looked at him, 'What are you doing here?" I asked. "I wanted to ask you if you told your dad yet." Joseph said. "Yes i told him. Can you leave now?" "No. You're being very rude you know. I don't like it. AND i want to straighten things out." Joe said standing up. "I don't care if i'm being rude. ANd you can get over it. AND maybe we should just leave things how we left them. Good night , Joseph." I siad pushing on his chest to get him out the window. "Will you stop?" He asked grabbing my hands. "Don't touch me." I mumble pulling my hands away. "Will you stop!" He yelled. "Why should I?!?!" I yelled. "Because...because i love you!" He yelled kissing me quickly and out the window he went.

Chapter 2
The next day was weird. Jacob came and picked me up like always. He looked at my face which must have been in a twisted expreation. "Something wrong, honey?" He asked kissing my cheek. I started to tell him what happened. But changed my mind. Him and Joe never got along and i really didn't want to see Joe in a body bag. "Nah. Just thinking about the...math test." I said. "We have one??? I didn't study! AHHH! Lindsey! Why didn't you remind-" "Sh. Stop yelling. No. I was talking about the one last week. We get them back today." I said grabbing his hand. "OUCH. Don't remind me. I know i sucked that one up. My dad is gonna kill me. I'll be grounded for months." "Did you study?" I asked bug eyed. "I have to make time for my BE-U-TEEE-FUL girlfriend." He said smiling and then kissed my lips quickly. "Drive before we're late." I whispered smiling. He started the car without letting go of my hand. When we got to the school he jumped out and got my door for me along with my bag. "I have a diffurent class than you." I said when he wouldn't give me my bag. "Let me walk you to your class...please?" He asked giving me the ful lip and everything. "Fine." I whispered smiling some. He chuckled and then continued walking. "Rachel! Wait up." I turned around and saw Joe running towards me. "Crap." I whispered.

Chapter 3
"What does he want?" Jake whispered to me. I nudged him, "Be nice." I mumbled. "I'll try." He said smiling. I grabbed my bag from Jake and he then put his arm around me and heald me against him. "Rachel. Can we talk...," Joe stopped and looked at Jacob, " At lunch....alone." "Why?" I asked. I was still mad. Jake leaned down to my ear and whispered, "Be nice." I rolled my eyes and Jake smiled and kissed my cheek, "See you in math." "K." I said quickly hugging him. "To science?" Joe asked. "I have to go to the bathroom. It could be awile." I said glaring at him. "I'll wait. That would only mean, we both get detention for being late." He said winking at me. I rolled my eyes and started for my class. Joe following behind me. "Rachel." "What, Joe?!" I realized i was yelling. He stared at me for a minute, "Never mind. Not THAT important." He mumbled. "I'm sorry." I whispered. "For?" "For yelling. And being a jerk. I'm not being a friend. I'm just....frustrated." I said not meeting his eyes. He lifted my chin with his hand and looked at me. "I understand. I'm that way too. No worries." He said smiling. I smiled back and we walked to class. Class went by fast. Lunch was there. Joe met me in the lunch room and we walked to the table. "Look i'm not sorry for kissing you. I think i was right in everyway. And i'm glad i did. But i am sorry for what's about to happen." Joe said sitting down across from me at a table by ourselves. "What?" I asked. "I'm moving. Next week. Kevin, Nick, and I got signed." Jeo said smiling. But it quickly turned into a frown. "Little Nick?? 14 year old Nick??" "Yeah. That little dude. He can belt some notes, Let me tell you." Joe said laughing. I just nodded my head. "We're moving to LA." Joe whispered looking down at his food. "WHAT?! Other side of the united states LA?!" I asked in shocked. I though when he said moving. I thought he ment out of state. Where i could still see him. But it would be impossable if he moved to LA. "Yeah. That one...." Joe mumbled. I suddenly relized i was crying. I was balling. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!?!" Jake was suddenly at my side pulling me to his chest. He started rubbing my back and my hair. "I didn't do a thing. Like i knew she would react like this! I thought she stopped caring! Rach. I'll come and see you. I promise." Joe whispered. "Stay away from her. You're making things hard than they have to be! " Jake yelled pulling me into the ladys bathroom. He got weird looks. But he was determaned to make me look and feel better. Joe was suddenly in the bathroom yelling at Jake. "OUT OF OUR LIVES, JOE JONAS!" Jake yelled. "NOT TILL SHE SAYS THOSE WORDS!" Joe yelled pointing at me. Then two pairs of eyes were now on me. WHat was i gonna say? WHat was i gonna do?
